Basement Cleanout Services Long Island — Full Basement Clearing

Basement cleanout services on Long Island & NYC — furniture, appliances, old storage, water-damaged items & more. Scrap-It! clears basements fast. Call (631) 464-0272.

Long Island basements are notorious for becoming long-term storage for everything that doesn't fit anywhere else. Scrap-It! provides thorough basement cleanout services — removing old furniture, appliances, boxes, water-damaged items, and years of accumulated storage, leaving your basement usable again.

Basements present unique challenges: tight access, low clearance, heavy items, and often decades of storage that's never been touched. Our crew is experienced in navigating tight basement stairways and loading heavy items out safely.

We remove old furniture and appliances (washers, dryers, water heaters, oil tanks — see note on tanks), filing cabinets and office materials, holiday and seasonal items, moving boxes and storage bins, exercise and sports equipment, water-damaged and moldy items, and general accumulated storage.

Note: Above-ground oil tanks that have been properly decommissioned can be removed with the right equipment. Underground oil tanks require a licensed contractor. Water-damaged or moldy material is handled with care, but active mold remediation requires a licensed specialist.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you remove a water heater or old furnace from a basement?

We can remove old electric water heaters and decommissioned furnaces. Gas appliances must be disconnected by a licensed plumber before our crew removes them. Oil furnaces and tanks require additional coordination.

Do you remove water-damaged items from basements?

Yes. We remove water-damaged furniture, flooring materials, drywall debris, and waterlogged storage. Items with active mold should be remediated by a licensed mold specialist before or alongside our cleanout.

Can you clean out a basement with low ceilings?

Yes — our crew is experienced in low-clearance basement removals. We bring the right tools and take extra care not to damage the structure during loading.
