1. Information We Collect

Information you provide to us

We collect information you choose to give us when you use the Services, including:

• Contact form submissions — your name, email address, and message.
• Instant quote requests — a description of your job, your service address, and any photos or videos you upload of the items you want removed.
• Booking requests — your name, phone number, email address, service address, preferred date, and any notes you provide (e.g., gate codes, access details).
• Phone calls and texts — when you call or text the number on our site, we may keep a record of the call/text and any details you share to schedule or quote a job.
• AI chat assistant — if you use the chat widget on our site, we receive the messages you send so our AI assistant (powered by Anthropic) can respond and so we can follow up if you request a quote or appointment.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our site, we and our analytics/advertising partners automatically collect certain technical information, including your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring URL, approximate location (derived from IP address), and the dates/times of your visit. We collect this information through cookies and similar technologies described in Cookies & Tracking Technologies below.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Prepare and deliver instant quotes and price estimates;
• Schedule, confirm, and carry out junk removal, cleanout, and demolition jobs;
• Respond to questions, messages, and chat conversations;
• Send appointment confirmations, reminders, and service- related updates by phone, text, or email;
• Improve our website, services, and the accuracy of our AI-generated quotes;
• Measure marketing performance and show relevant ads (with your consent where required); and
• Comply with legal obligations and protect our business and customers.

3. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate our site and to understand how visitors use it. Specifically, we use:

• Google Analytics to understand site traffic and visitor behavior;
• Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure the performance of our social media advertising and show you more relevant ads;
• Cloudflare Turnstile on our instant quote and booking forms, to check that requests come from a person and not an automated bot. Turnstile is provided by Cloudflare and is subject to the Cloudflare Privacy Policy and the Turnstile Privacy Addendum; and
• Essential cookies that keep the site functioning, such as remembering an in-progress quote during your browsing session.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. You can opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, and manage Meta’s ad preferences in your Facebook ad settings. Disabling cookies may affect how parts of the site work, such as the instant quote tool.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run our business:

• Service providers who help us operate the Services — for example, Resend (transactional email delivery for contact form messages), Anthropic (which powers our website chat assistant), our website hosting and file storage providers (for photo/video uploads submitted with quote requests), and Google and Meta (analytics and advertising, as described above);
• Our crew and staff, who need job details (address, items, access notes) to complete your service;
• Legal and safety purposes, such as responding to a subpoena, court order, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Scrap-It!, our customers, or others; and
• Business transfers, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Each service provider is only given the information needed to perform its function and is not permitted to use your information for unrelated purposes.

Text messages: no mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Sharing with subcontractors that support our services, such as our text message delivery provider, is permitted. All of the categories above exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

5. Data Retention

We keep quote requests, booking details, and communications for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain our business records (including for accounting, scheduling, and customer service), and comply with legal obligations. Photos and videos submitted with quote requests are retained only as long as needed to generate and honor the related estimate, after which they are deleted on a routine basis. You may request earlier deletion of your information by contacting us, as described in Contact Us.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of certain uses (such as targeted advertising). For example, California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money; to the extent our use of advertising cookies (such as the Meta Pixel) is considered “sharing” under California law, you can opt out using the methods described in Cookies & Tracking Technologies or by contacting us directly.

7. Calls & Text Messages

We only text you if you agree to it. You can agree by checking the optional SMS box on our booking form, or by telling us on a call that you would like text updates. Agreeing is not a condition of booking or receiving service, and giving us your phone number does not, by itself, sign you up for texts. We keep a record of your consent: when and how you agreed, and the wording you agreed to. Our Text Message Updates page shows the checkbox wording and the exact words we use when you agree on a call.

If you agree, Scrap-It! Junk Removal sends texts about your request or appointment: confirmations, scheduling updates, crew arrival notices, reminders, job status, and service follow-up. We do not send marketing texts. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply “STOP” at any time to opt out or “HELP” for help. If you call us, we may call you back about your request; you can ask to be removed from our calling list at any time.

We do not share or sell your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in consent to third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we collect, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS) and access controls on our systems and service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children’s Privacy

Our Services are intended for adults seeking junk removal, cleanout, or demolition services and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. Third-Party Links

Our site may link to third-party sites, such as our Google Business Profile or social media pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third-party sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will post the updated policy on this page and revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
