Our eco-process: 1. Sort — Every load is sorted at our facility. Items are assessed for donation potential, recyclability, and disposal. 2. Donate — Furniture, appliances, clothing, and household goods in good condition are donated to our network of Long Island charities, nonprofits, and community organizations. 3. Recycle — Metal, cardboard, paper, electronics, glass, and other recyclables are taken to certified recycling centers. 4. Responsible Dispose — What genuinely can't be reused or recycled is taken to licensed disposal facilities in compliance with New York State regulations.

Our diversion rate varies by load type, but we consistently donate or recycle a significant portion of every cleanout. Estate cleanouts and residential cleanouts tend to have the highest diversion rates as they contain the most reusable goods.
Is eco-friendly junk removal more expensive?
No. Our pricing is based on volume and type of material — the same as any junk removal company. The eco-responsible process happens on our end after pickup, at no additional cost to you.
What does Scrap-It! do with recycled materials?
Recyclables are taken to certified recycling facilities. Metal goes to scrap metal dealers, electronics go to certified e-waste recyclers, cardboard and paper go to paper mills, and glass and plastic go to material recovery facilities.
